Mrs. Scarlett Duckwitz was the recipient of the March Teacher Spotlight gift basket. Mrs. Duckwitz resides near Altamont with her husband, Ron. They have 4 grown children and 5 grandchildren. She taught Jr. High Grammar and Literature for 2 years and was the Cheerleading coach when the boys basketball team went to the State Tournament. She then moved to the elementary school, where she taught 6th grade for 18 years and 4th grade for 15 years. Additional information:

Little-known fact about Mrs. Duckwitz: She started college at EIU as a music major but quit after the first semester. She then returned in the summer and worked hard to catch up and graduate on time as an elementary teacher.
She enjoys spending her free time with her family.
