
Today the St. Elmo FFA honored our Greenhand members and cooked breakfast for the staff to show our appreciation for all that they do for our students!





The St. Elmo FFA kicked off National FFA Week today with the Officer team attending the Beecher City Church of Christ. Here are the activities for the rest of the week:
Tuesday - Teacher Appreciation Breakfast, FFA Shirt Day, Greenhand Day and Kernel Kount
Wednesday - Camo/Hat Day and Trivia Night
Thursday - Red, White & Blue Day, Grade School Coloring Contest, and Ag Olympics at the Elementary School
Friday - Flannel Friday, Drive Your Tractor to School Day (permission form required), and the FFA Alumni Honor Roll Steak Luncheon


Due to anticipated weather, we will dismiss school at 1:00 pm today. All evening activities are cancelled. Parent/teacher conferences will be rescheduled for next Thursday, Feb. 24th from 4-7:30 pm. Just a reminder…there is no school tomorrow or Monday. I apologize for any inconvenience, but as always, the safety of our students and staff is top priority. Thank you!

Collin Hannagan Advances to District IV FFA Proficiency Awards
The Section 19 FFA Proficiency Awards were held at the St. Elmo High School on Wednesday, February 16, 2022. There were 12 schools in attendance for the competition. Collin Hannagan finished 1st place overall in the area of Specialty Animal Production. Collin will now advance to the District IV Proficiency Awards on March 9, 2022 at Mt. Zion High School.

Tuesday - Twin Spirit (Wear matching outfits with a friend or two or three!)
Wednesday - Wacky Spirit (Dress in mismatched patterned shirts & pants, wear two different socks & shoes!)
Thursday - School Spirit (Wear something Eagles or blue & white!)
Friday - Weekend Spirit (Wear appropriate pajamas and robes!)
P.S. Leave your pajamas on and come see us at 7 p.m. to watch "Clifford the Big Red Dog."

Wed. Feb. 9 will be last camp day
1st/2nd graders = 3:45-4:30pm (this group can ride the bus to the high school)
3rd/4th graders = 4:30-5:15pm
Mon. Feb. 14 will be camper introductions at halftime of the JV boys basketball game

Members of the St. Elmo FFA are participating in the Ground Zero FFA Leadership Conference this weekend at SIU-Carbondale. Members include: Jack Kimberlin, Lane Stine, Brodie Casey, Kinley Carson, and Anna Stine.

Congratulations to Audrey Wilhour for being named January FFA Member of the Month!


Congratulations to the FFA Public Speaking Team! Lowell Wilhour competed in the Section 19 FFA Creed Speaking CDE and advanced to the finals where he finished 6th place overall. Sydney Stine competed in the Varsity Extemporaneous division where she finished 2nd overall and will now advance to the district level competition in April.


Due to a staff shortage, on Thursday January 27th, 2022, students riding Bus #26 (M.Miller) will be picked up approximately 15 minutes earlier than usual and students riding Bus #14 (S.Durbin) will be picked up approximately 15 minutes later than usual. 5th/6th Grade Basketball Game Canceled for tonight, Tuesday January 25th, 2022. Thank you!

The 8th Grade Agriculture students have been busy in the shop! They have been working on reading a ruler and how to safely operate a band saw and a miter saw.

Students in Intro to Ag have been learning to wire this week in their Electricity Unit. All materials and lab supplies were received through the Ag Education Incentive Grant.
