St Elmo FFA just finished Day 2 at the National Land Judging Contest which was filled with practice soil pits, study sessions and a team social with the other teams from across the United States. The team will begin competition day tomorrow at 7:30 am! They are so excited to represent the St Elmo community!

Sale! Sale! Sale! To celebrate the St Elmo FFA heading to Oklahoma this week to compete in the National Land Judging Contest all plants are 1/2 off! Greenhouse will be open 9:30 - 3:30 on Monday and closed Tuesday - Friday.



Lane Stine, junior member of the St Elmo FFA was honored at the Section 19 FFA Banquet on Wednesday, April 24th at Morrisonville High School for his year of service as the 2023-2024 Section 19 FFA Treasurer.



St Elmo FFA members Peyton Garrard and Wade Stine were recently elected to serve on the 2024-2025 Section 19 FFA Officer Team as an extension of the Illinois State FFA Officer Team.



St. Elmo FFA members received numerous awards and recognitions at the Section 19 FFA Banquet held at Morrisonville High School on Wednesday, April 24th. Members were honored for their achievements in career development events, supervised agricultural experience projects and earning the coveted Illinois State FFA Degree.

Congratulations to the St Elmo FFA for their 2nd Place Overall finish at the Section 19 FFA Livestock Judging CDE at the Jasper County Fairgrounds! The team consisted of Lowell Wilhour (5th Place Individual), Anna Stine (9th Place Individual), Lane Stine, Kinley Carson, Calvin Voelker, Lane McAllister, Jack Wilhour, Wade Stine, Macey Sapp, Cami Haslett, Keelie Miller, Landon Webster, Dayana Haslett, and Isaiah Waterman.

State Bound! Congratulations to the St Elmo FFA Envirothon team for their first place overall finish at the Land Council 10 Envirothon competition for the surrounding counties of Fayette, Shelby, Effingham, and Cumberland. The team also won overall the divisions of soils and wildlife with a perfect score of 100 out of both the science and FFA teams. The team will advance to Illinois State Envirothon on May 8th at the 4-H Memorial Camp. Team members include Wade Stine, Kinley Carson, Anna Stine, Lowell Wilhour and Lane Stine.


The St Elmo FFA is at Ballard Nature Center today in Altamont competing in the Envirothon competition in the areas of Forestry, Wildlife, Aquatics, Soils and Biodiversity!

Congratulations to the St Elmo FFA Dairy Judging Team as they finished Top 10 in State! Team members include Dayana Haslett, Lane Stine, Macey Sapp, Anna Stine and Wade Stine! Competition was held at Kaskaskia College.

The members of the St Elmo FFA Soils Judging Team were presented their Illinois State FFA Champion Land Use CDE jackets at the Annual St Elmo FFA Banquet.


Congratulations to Daniela Haslett, Anna Stine, Kinley Carson and Lane McAllister, recipients of the St Elmo FFA Alumni Scholarship. The St Elmo FFA Alumni scholarship program provides students the monetary opportunity to continue their education. The alumni raises funds for the scholarship program through their Annual St Elmo Alumni Pie Auction and St Elmo Alumni Paddle Auction.


Congratulations to Anna Stine and Peyton Garrard, recipients of the Mill Road Thresherman’s Association Scholarship. Dean Goeckner of the Mill Road Thresherman’s Scholarship presented the scholarship at the Annual St Elmo FFA Banquet. The Mill Road Thresherman’s Association provides students opportunities to continue their education in agriculture through their scholarship program from the area schools of St Elmo, Altamont and Beecher City.


The horticulture classes have been busy planting vegetables and annual flowers this week! The greenhouse will open April 24th so mark your calendars!
